Democratic Actions and Development Support Plan for Working with Children

This manual supports educators in their role of guiding and supporting children, transforming every interaction into a learning opportunity. Each of its two sections addresses a specific competency from the new Early Childhood Education Techniques program:

• Part 1: O2KR – Implement democratic interventions
• Part 2: O2KU – Develop a support plan related to the child’s specific needs

The first part presents the child as the primary actor in their own development. Children are supported with kindness, respect, and attentive listening in a harmonious environment. The interventions selected encourage children’s active participation, autonomy, and ability to take action in key contexts such as routines, transitions, and play. Educators are encouraged to reflect on their practices to ensure that the democratic approaches they implement are consistent and relevant.

The second part provides practical tools, based on targeted observations and clear objectives, to design a development support plan. Concrete strategies promote the child’s overall development and support them in meeting their specific needs.
